The Laboratory

The Laboratory of Metabolism Disorders was created in 2012 at the Faculty of Applied Sciences at UNICAMP and is shared by four professors who develop their projects in collaboration. We have investigated, in different obesity models, the molecular mechanisms associated with liver regeneration, placental dysfunction, metabolic programming and homeostasis disorders. In this context, the laboratory is interested in the contribution of dietary components to the development of epigenetic alterations (DNA and microRNA methylation), autophagy, neurogenesis, anti-inflammatory responses and central control of hunger and energy expenditure.
